I have been admitted :(

Unfortunately I am writing from my room in Antepartum at the hospital. It is so hard to be here right now because I am literally here for nothing.

Yesterday I was laying on the couching and kept feeling some tightening in my belly. They started coming every couple of minutes. They werent painful but I thought I should call just to be safe. The on call doc up here was very nice but is extremely cautious and told me to come in.
I came in and found out that the braxton hicks had stopped and my uterus was just getting irritated from the rapid growth I guess. So they had me lay on my side and started IV fluids. Immediately I was fine and have been fine since. So obviously my high risk doc was out having a hay day because he never came in to check on me. So they decided to admit me until he could check everything out. Last night was really tough and Trever and I really took it hard because we just felt like being here was pointless. At this point they dont have me hooked up to any monitors.

So today, we are still waiting on my high risk doctor to do an ultrasound and who knows when he will be coming in. I feel like I want to get up, get dressed, and walk right out. I have been so good at home and received lots of praise from both of my doctors..

So we are hoping a praying that they will let me go home tomorrow but they quite possibly they could keep me here for the long haul just so I can be babysat.

Sorry for the vent, I am just so frusterated!

Into week 20!!

Yay I am so happy that I am going into the twenties! At the end of the twenties, it will be crunch time and the babies could potentially come at any time! I am just so excited for all that is to come! For some reason, in my heart, I really feel like I am going to defy the odds and make it far into this pregnancy! I know that we could not do it without all of the prayers and support we have gotted from you all!

You know, I really do have to say that this experience is amazing! I love to think of all the blessings that are to come.

Well here is the update for the babies this week.

Baby's digestive system is busy creating meconium (a tarry black substance made of swallowed amniotic fluid, digestive secretion and dead cells), which will fill the first diaper after birth. And, speaking of the diaper situation... baby's genitals are now fully formed!
We had an appointment this morning and it was another amazing appointment! My cervix grew again! It grew from a 4.7 to a 4.87 this week! I just cannot believe how much we are being blessed! All of the babies looked fabulous and they were very active this morning. I have gained 10 pounds in the last two weeks! Crazy huh? I told you I wasnt playing around about gaining the recommended 45 pounds by 20 weeks! I am up to 30 and my goal is to gain 10 more pounds by my next appointment on December 5th! And with a yummy Thanksgiving dinner to eat, I have a feeling that wont be a problem!!!
As for how I have been feeling, by the night time I feel like I am going to explode! The doctor checked my uterus and it is measuring 28 weeks in the morning so I am sure by the nighttime I am like 35 weeks! My belly button feels like it is being split open. Bed rest makes you really really sore so by the time I get into bed I just toss and turn for an hour.
On a positive note, I am feeling the babies more and more. Trever still cannot feel them but hopefully that will come soon! We are making great headway on all of the things we need for these babies!
Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! We love you all!

19 Weeks! Coming right up!!!

Well let me just say that today's appointment has put me on cloud 9. It was really really amazing. It was a 2 hour ultrasound that measured every anatomical part of each of our babies. The heart chambers, head, brain, arms, thighs, feet, toes, hands, fingers, and bellies. And the miracle of it is that they are all 100% perfect! I just really am so deeply in love with them!

I was really really nervous about my cervical length measurement because that could be considered the most important factor in determining when my hospital stay will begin! As I have previously mentioned, 2 weeks ago it was a 3.8, last week it grew to a 4.1 (which is great), and this week it was a whopping 4.7!!! We were so ecstatic! This bedrest is really paying off and I am really getting the assurance that all of this lying down is helping! 34 weeks here we come!

We also got some fantastic news from our high risk doctor today! Well, as you all know, we have really been hoping to avoid me living at the hospital until after Christmas. Unfortunately, we have been told that at 24 weeks (Christmas Eve) I will be there to stay until the babies are born. Well he told us that he will be out of town until the 29th of December!!! So this means I will not be going in until at least 25 weeks! We are so ecstatic! I get to spend my Christmas home with little Eva and my hunk Trever (as long as I stay on my best behavior lol :)). I really have a positive attitude about everything now and I am looking forward to this new family we will have!

I figured we were overdue for a belly pic so here it goes!
I have gained a total of 25 pounds as of today so I feel like I am doing pretty good. I am starting to feel the babies a whole lot more so that has been really neat!

All of the babies weighed 8 ounces except for Parker who was 9 ounces! You go boy!
And here are the pics of the babies today!

In my 18th week now!

I had to start with these beautiful blues! Goodness girl, where do you get your good looks :)?!

I am so very excited to be in my 18th week! There is just something about that number that makes me feel good lol! Maybe because that was the age I felt all grown and stuff lol! Little did I know............

So I really hate this sweet potato picture especially since it has hairs on it lol! Believe me our babies are alot cuter than this right now!

Today we had the most amazing appointment! First of all thanks to Tanna for watching Eva! Trever now has to wheel me in a wheelchair everywhere and it would be so difficult with Eva. I gained 4 pounds from my last appointment which I was so so happy about! That puts right at a total gained of 19 pounds! Dr. Luke says that 45 pounds by week 20 is optimal but I am hoping to really tack some on in the next couple of weeks. I feel good about my progress so far!

So then we had an ultrasound and the babies have grown so much from even last week!!! At one point in the ultrasound, Madelyn headbutted Parker. You could tell he got mad because before she did it his hand was in a fist by his face and when she hit him he opened up his hand and reached it in her direction! It was really so cute! I always tell Trever that our girls our going to be the fiesty ones (just like him) and the boys are going to be the sweet ones (just like me) lol ha ha ha!!! JK.......

So as you all know from the last post that I am on home bedrest now. I am so so so so glad I got put on it this early because last week my cervix length was at 3.8 and this week it grew to 4.1! The doctor was ecstatic! I really think this early bedrest is going to buy me hospital and pregnancy time! I cannot believe how much of a difference it has made! Now that I never put that pressure on my cervix from standing up, I can really feel just how much weight those babies put on it when I do sit or stand! It is almost painful!

Eva all dolled up for church!

Eva and daddy getting ready for church. I cried my eyes out because I wont be going for a really long time!

Eva loves her spaghetti!

And below are some pictures of my shower 2 weeks ago! It was so much fun and so many people came out to support us! We got so many great things! Thank you so much to all of my hosts! I wish we could have gotten pictures together!!!!

The time has come!

The time has officially come where I am on strict bedrest! The doctor said I can only get up to use the restroom and shower. Nothing bad happened at my appointment but both of my doctors are telling me that we really need to be cautious so that the babies stay inside for as long as possible. I am so glad that we got a new laptop because now I can blog from the couch!

Well we accomplished 16 weeks yesterday, so we are officially in our 17th week! This pregnancy is really flying by and we are so excited that our family will be expanding very soon. So for all of you who thought that it was way too early to tell the genders at 13 weeks, we have great news..... STILL 2 BOYS AND 2 GIRLS 100%. We are so so relieved! Especially after we just completed both of the adorable nurserys this weekend!

I was especially nervous for today's appointment. I am not sure why, but I guess with being pregnant with 4 babies it is hard for me to believe that everything could keep going so perfectly! Well today's appointment went very very well! Our ultrasound was very long (which we love) and we got awesome pics of each of the babies:

Madelyn Lila

Both Dahlia and Madelyn weigh 4 ounces and Parker and Preston weigh 5. It is funny that the boys weigh the same and the girls weigh the same. We also asked my high risk doctor when he thought I would go on hospital bedrest and he said around week 24. Week 24 is Christmas Eve so we are sure that we could go in after that. I just have to be on my best behavior until then lol!

Last week we got to take a tour of Plano Presby's NICU. This place I am sure will be our home for many weeks after the babies are born. It really was amazing how much they cater to the parents! They have 8 pods, each consisting of 6 rooms for 6 patients. They will put all 4 babies in the same pod and so we will pretty much have our own suite! It really was a nice place! The definetly make a scary situation a little more relaxing!

We had the world's best baby shower on Friday! We got so much and it really helped us to feel so much more prepared! Thank you Neysa and Emily for the wonderful food! I know how hard it must have been with new babies at home! Believe me that the things y'all have done for us do not go unnoticed! Thank you to Nan and Pop for making us all of those freezer meals! I know they will come in so handy! Thank you Mel and Brian for the cribs, yummy root beer, and all of the clothes for our kiddos! Especially Eva's since we know we have to prepare her for the wintertime too! Thank you to my mom, Asa, and Aunt Gail for the shower and all of the time you spent to make both of our nurserys the cutest on the planet! Also, thank for the gazillion clothes you bought! We had a blast with you! Thank you Alisa for renting the clubhouse for us! And thank you to all of you who took time out of your busy schedules on our behalf to spend that evening celebrating our new family!!!!!!! YOU ALL ARE AMAZING!

I will leave you with my latest belly pics! Farewell and we love you all!

Week 15!

Yay! Pretty much in my mind we have made it to our half way point. I would love to make it farther, and believe me I am going to try my hardest but it seems like around 30 weeks is when a lot of quad moms seem to have their babies.

We are long overdue for a post so I thought you all would like to see the fruit our babies compare to at this point.............
And here are some fun facts about our growing little ones!

"Continuing the march towards normal proportions, baby's legs now outmeasure the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably still can't feel the movements.

So exciting! Wait until you see what next week is lol! Its no wonder I already look like I am 20 to 25 weeks pregnant!

I had my surgery on Friday which went really well. I had to fast until after my surgery which started at 3:30 and that was so miserable! Poor Trever hadnt eaten all day either so I sent him to the cafeteria to eat while we waited for me to go back (as long as he ate in the cafeteria too). You know I was hungry, because I found delight smelling his fried chicken breath lol! I was put on bedrest for about the first 4 days and then I have been taking it really easy ever since.

Today I had a doctors appointment and it went really really well! We got to see each of the babies squirming around. Unfortunately we didnt get too many pics but we did get a really great profile shot of Madelyn (Baby D). Here she is:

And here is a picture of all of the babies. You are looking down on the tops of their heads:

Well, while I was waiting to see Dr. Herzog, I read my book about Twins, Triplets and Quads. I havent read it in quite a while and so I definetly needed refreshed! Well I am way way behind my recommended weight goal and I really really want to try to meet each of these. So my first goal is to gain 45 pounds by 20 weeks. Well, I have only gained 12 and I only have 5 more weeks! So I have 40 days to gain 33 pounds. No more skimping on this 4500 calorie per day diet! I want to have the biggest babies I can possibly have and I am gonna take this seriously from here on out!

My doctor and nurses were very encouraging today but Dr. Herzog is definetly on the cautious side of things. When he came in the room he asked me what my average day was like and said I really need to chill lol! I guess you could say I am on bedrest without fully being on bedrest. He also sent a shocker our way.... 6 more weeks until he is planning on me being in the hospital. It is so sad because I was really hoping to make it through Eva's first Christmas (that she can recognize) before I had to go in. I guess we will just have to set up a Christmas tree in my room. Trever and I decided to go ahead and get all of her Christmas presents in the next couple of weeks, that way I can at least be a part of that.

I am really really excited for our shower on Friday! Thanks so much to everyone who is doing so much for all of us!

Oh... and here is the crazy ole belly.

Special Thanks to these people who have really truly been there for us!
