Dahlia Bear

We all just love it when Daddy gets home from work! He pretty much gets clobbered! Its a nightly ritual for Eva and the babies to dogpile on daddy!

This week ECI came back out and did an asssesment on Dahlia and Madelyn. Madelyn developmentally is at the age of a 10 month old, so right on track for her adjusted age but cognitively at the stage of a 7 month old. They werent to concerned with that though and they just want to see her be able to play social games like peek a boo within 6 months. So they have decided to just put her in the Follow-Along program where they send Trever and I a questionaire every 3 months and then they will score it and see if they need to send anyone out to help her.

Dahlia on the other hand, will begin intense therapy the first week in March. Developmentally she is at the stage of a 6 month old and cognitively at the stage of a 3 month old. We have 2 different therapists coming once a week to get her to start sitting, crawling, eating on her own and interacting more. She is pretty weak in the arms, legs and torso so they have taught us how to do some strength building activities to help her. Most of this is due to being in the NICU for so long and pretty much just laying in a bed all day. Also, the oxygen tubing restricted her and she is easily fatigued because of the hole in her heart. So we are just being patient and helping her as much as we can!

Well gotta go! Arent yall so proud of me for posting so much lately? :)

Valentines 2010

I thought I would post some pics of the kiddos on Valentines Day!

They are all doing well except for the rampant runny nose around here!

Eva- Definetly a two year old. She is learning about her independence lately and wants to do things by herself. She is learning the valuable lesson of sharing. She has been playing alot with her little buddy Jaxon. Hopefully the weather will get nicer soon because she loves to be outside. She has been saying some really funny things lately like "I love you so much, babe". It is hilarious! She is a great big sister and is really close with Parker. They love to get into trouble together! She has a new favorite movie and it is Mulan, she could watch it ten times a day! Her imaginary friend Mina is still around (somewhere) too and they play together often, when Mina isnt in time out that is :)

Parker- Yes, still keeping momma on her toes! He is nonstop 24-7. He pulls up on everything and I think he will be walking in a few short weeks. He has learned to climb up on the couch, actually he has learned to climb up most everything including people :)! Developmentally he is right on target and doing well!

Dahlia- Awe, my little angel. I always tell her she should go into the cloning business because she is the perfect baby. She is just barely sitting but still needs a little support. She is rolling a ton and pushing herself around in circles when she is on her belly. She is very sensitive and dainty. Dahlia is on some high calorie formula to help her gain weight. She is a very very picky eater and hates anything that is not sweet. She comes by it honestly though :)

Preston- Yup, stil a momma's boy through and through! He is definetly the biggest of the bunch. He is crawling everywhere and pulling up on stuff. He has the loudest voice of all the babies. He is such a good baby, very very content.

Madelyn- Definetly the most outgoing baby. She loves to sing and smile. Her hair is growing so long it is crazy! She is crawling and pulling up on stuff. She is on some high calorie supplements because she is still pretty small. I dont know how Dahlia ever gets any sleep since her and Madelyn share a bedroom! Madelyn loves to sing, talk, and chatter all the time in her crib!

Trever- Busy Busy man he is. He just started a new job at Oracle on Monday. It is a contract to hire position selling databases and other computer stuff that is way above my head! Real Estate is also picking up quite a bit so when he gets home and on the weekends that is usually what occupies his time. It was so nice because last night we had a date night where we went through a drive through, went to get some clothes for the kids and went grocery shopping. My idea of a fabulous date nowadays lol! It is so funny to watch people gawk at how much formula we are buying at the store! We buy 16 cans of formula, about 50 bottles of baby food, 6 boxes of infant cereal, 6 or 7 plastic bottles of fruit juice, and 3 cases of Pediasure. The grocery bill is definetly at an all time high right about now but I have a pretty sure feeling it will only continue to rise as my bottomless pits (Preston and Parker) continue to grow older!

Me, the Quad-Mom, Crazy lady- Well I have been OK. It sure is tough not having Trever around anymore but in a weird sense it gives me a lone responsibility that is empowering. Just in the time Trever has been working, I have bonded with all of my children in a way I could have never imagined. I am learning what works the best and the babies are definetly on a very tight schedule. Crock pot meals have become my best friends because I can make dinner when it is convenient for me. I cant lie and say that I havent had any melt downs though. I have an amazing friend that spends alot of time over here selflessly helping me and we have become really close. My inlaws help on Sunday so that we can go to church and the occasional Mamaw day is always a treat! Last weekend I got to go on an overnight trip to San Antonio with some friends which was nice. My business has really taken off and my outfits are going for a lot on Ebay. It is definetly really rewarding to still be able to do what I love despite my crazy busy life :)

Well I am so sorry I have been such a terrible blogger! I just barely came across a gem program Picassa that makes it much easier for me to upload photos on here! So I promise I will be better :)

LOOK WHO IS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PART ONE---

I cannot believe this day is here!!! Our beautiful little quads are 1 today! So since I have your attention, if you are reading this blog post now or have ever prayed for our children please leave a comment. This blog serves as a scrapbook/baby book for our children and we will be printing this blog to give to each child. So many of you have prayed for our little ones and we truly believe that we could not have done it without you! So, that being said, we want them to hear from you all as well!

Ok well here we go............Very very very long post. Sorry it has been ages since our last post but we had a photo shoot done and our pictures were going out to family members and we didnt want them to see the pictures until Christmas. So on this very special day I wanted to write a very special post.

At 9 PM on December 30th, 2008 my beautiful quadruplets were born at 25 weeks all weighing only one single pound. They fought so hard this year and I am so proud of them and their strength. It is so amazing how much such little beings can teach grown adults, but we really have learned so much about their character, faith and perserverance!

Here are pictures of all of the babies the night they were born, followed by a picture of them now.

Parker Elden King-

Born first weighing in at 1 pound 10 ounces

My Sweet Little Man now:

Weighing in at 17 pounds 8 ounces, Parker is such an awesome baby! He definetly is a firecracker, full of energy and curiousity. He was the first to sit, first to crawl, and the first to pull up on things! He definetly is a ladies man but a guy's guy. He loves to watch his daddy play his golf video game but he loves to flirt with the ladies. Lately, his favorite hobby has been trying his best to scare his mother by putting light bulbs in his mouth and falling halfway down the staircase! He is teething and has his top two teeth and 4 on the bottom. He just said his very first word last week=--------Momma!!! And daddy was there to witness it! So happy is his mommy! We love you Parker and Happy Birthday Honey Bear!!!

Dahlia Colleen King-

Born second weighing in at 1 pound 11 ounces

Night of her birth:

Dahlia Now:

Dahlia weighs in at 15 pounds 6 ounces and is our littlest baby. After 11 very very very long months on home oxygen, she is now off of it and doing well!!! She has been off for about 2 weeks now and there is no turning back! Our little Dahlia should go into the baby cloning business as she is truly a DREAM baby!!! She is such a snuggler, just loves to chill, and she likes things very quiet and peaceful! She is definetly the little mommy of the group as she is very concerned when one of her brothers or sisters is upset. She doesnt like when people talk loudly or make any kind of loud noises. Little Dahlia has no interest in sitting, crawling, or standing. In fact she hardly cares to roll around. She is extremely observant and just loves to watch people and things around her. She is teething now and she has 3 on the bottom and she is getting her top 2 in, which she is not happy about. Dahlia has a small hole in her heart that she will probably have surgery for when she is 4 or 5 but other than that she is healthy. She is spitting image of Eva when Eva was a baby wich is really neat to see! Happy Birthday Dahlia Bear!!! We are so proud of you!

Preston Wayne King:

Born third weighing in at 1 pound 12 ounces:

Preston Now: Preston weighs in at a whopping 19 pounds 9 ounces---2 pounds bigger than the next biggest baby!!! Oh, he is just such a lover and even as I am typing this he takes my breath away!! He is such a big teddy bear! He is a mommy's boy through and through. He is now crawling and can pretty much sit on his own. Parker leads him into mischief but he is still a little hestitant to explore the uncharted territories of our house! He is one of our best eaters and loves his fruits! He is teething and now has 5 teeth. He still is spitting image of his father. His eyes literally glow in the dark which is the most amazing thing to see! His teeth are growing in yellow because of certain medications he was given in the NICU. Nevertheless, he still one of the most handsome little boys you will ever see!! Happy Birthday sweet boy! We love you very very much!

Madelyn Lila King

Born last weighing in at 1 pound 9 ounces:

Madelyn Now:

Madelyn now weighs in at 16 pounds 12 ounces. She has the funniest personality of any baby I really have ever ever known! She is hilarious and can make anyone laugh! She is always smiling and she has such a zest about her. She is trying to figure out crawling but cannot seem to figure out how to go forward instead of backwards. She likes to talk and sing songs like "La La La" She probably keeps poor Dahlia up all night long! She has very thick black hair and very girly features. She is a very easy baby and we love having her around! She too is teething right now and is getting her top two teeth, which she has NOT been happy about! She has been a very happy and healthy little baby and we just love having her in our family! Happy Bday Madelyn! We love you soooooo much!

So we just had a small family birthday party today for the babies. All of the babies were not too crazy for their birthday cake except for Parker who loves anything food. They got new clothes, bath toys, jammies, and blankets. They had a Winnie the Pooh cake and wore party hats! Eva got to open her very own presents as well.

Well it is now 10:15 and there is alot more I wanted to post so I guess I will have to do a Part 2 very soon! Life as a mom with Quads makes you cherish your sleep :)
